גם כאשר אובמה בבית הלבן הדיונים העולמיים להצלת העולם משינויי אקלים קטסטרופלי לא ממש מתקדמים. אם רומני מצהיר ששינוי האקלים אינו מעינינו יהיה נשיא ניתן לחתום על כך שלא יושג שום הסכם משמעותי בתקופת כהונתו.

לצערי, עם שינוי האקלים סופות כאלו הלכו וניהיו נפוצות יותר ויותר. חבל לראות שמתייחסים לזה ככלי פוליטי ולא כאסון. אם באמת היו מתייחסים לזה כאסון אז היו מתכננים הרבה יותר צעדים סביבתי על מנת שהמצב של הסביבה לא יחמיר ואפילו ישתפר.
