BIDEN PLEDGED TO CONVOKE A CLIMATE SUMMIT IN THE FIRST 100 DAYS OF HIS PRESIDENCY. HOW TO MAKE IT BEST?

In his climate programm Biden writes:

"In his first 100 days in office, Biden will convene a climate world summit to directly engage the leaders of the major greenhouse gas-emitting nations of the world to persuade them to join the United States in making more ambitious national pledges, above and beyond the commitments they have already made."

I think it bring hope and can be a key moment in the fight against climate change. What the summit need to be succesfull?

A good summit needs a well defined target. There is 2 urgent threats: Climate Change and Deforestation specially in the Amazon. So the target should be :

1. Increase climate commitments, so they at least will hold temperature well below 2 degrees above preindusrtrial level.

2. Stop Deforestation.

The second point should be a part of the way to reach the first.

There are maybe to many little reforestation prograams what make hardere to concentrate efforrts. Maybe it will be better to concentrate them into the the trillion trees initiative and make sure that it will be implemented.

Deforestation should be stop and it not to difficult as the deforestation of the Amazon already worsen the drought condition in Brazil, and the corona pandemic linked to climate change and deforestation caused huge damage to theeconomy of Brazil.

The deforestation did not linked to the consumption of meet by itself but to the capitalistic way of its consumption. The cattle can be held in Texas or in the steppes of souhern Russia. The problem that it is more profitable to hold it in plains made by forest logging in Amazon because in the tropical forest there is many rain, the temperature are comfortable and the workers demand less payment.

But when the forest is destroyed in few years the climate become non comfortable the soil become depeleted and than people move to destroy more area of forest and move into it. So what is needed it simply stop produce meat by the law of the profit.

Reach 1.5 degrees is more difficult in one summit, but 2 degrees are very possible.

If all the commitments including the recent committments of China and US will be implemented untill the latest millimetre, the global temperature still will rise to 2.1 degrees above pre-industrial level. What means a sur catastrophe.

Of course not all really implement their commitments.

So, we need to drag it down to at least 1.8 degrees. 0.3 of degree celcius.

The USA in my opinion is the most influential country in the world in climate issues because it hold 29% of global wealth. But even to United States it will be difficult to do it alone.

Now when China, EU, Japan, South Korea are in and 127 countries are considering or have adopted net zero targets, the pressure should come from the entire coalition.

According to CNN, China, the US, EU, Japan South Korea -- two thirds of the world economy.

So, the United Natoins should calculate what each country should do, for drag the temperature 0.3 degrees down. It should send it to all countries and the countries should responde what they neeed for do it.

For example the, organization America's pledge calculated that with federal support the USA can reduce its GHG emissions by 49% by the year 2030. So, it should be proposed as a target to United States. The same about each country in the world.

Of course countries who did notdo anything or almost anything should do more. Of course other circumstances should be also taken into account.

And than all the climate active countries should say that if some country will implement - we will help and if not - boycott.

I think it really can work. And I think climate activists should demand it. Organize some #ClimateStrike or #PeoplesClimateMarch in the day of Biden inauguration and in the day of the summit.
